Farmageddon! Festival in Ithaca Sunday
New York Ag Connection - 10/20/2016

The Farmageddon! Farm Festival will be held at Stick and Stone Farm near Ithaca Oct. 23 from 2 to 7 p.m..

The public is invited to join in for Healthy Food for All's 10-year anniversary, a birthday bash to celebrate a decade of food equity and small farm viability. There is free admission to this family-friendly event, however, no pets are allowed. Mulled cider will be on hand while people listen to live music, savor a local hot dog and beer by the bonfire, frolic on the farm in beautiful fall weather, take a hay-wagon ride and join in an epic celebration of local farms, food and community.

Local food and libations for sale include

-- Gourmet sausage and hot dogs by The Piggery

-- Custom relish and topping bar by Crooked Carrot

-- Fall harvest vegetable dishes and roasted squash soup

-- WhaleCat donuts

-- Special anniversary ice cream by Cayuga Lake Creamery

-- Bacchus Brewing Company Beer

-- Hot cider

Live music will be provided by Mosaic Foundation, The Ilium Works, Fall Creek Brass Band and Whistlin' Dyl.

Family-friendly events include wagon rides, fun zone for kids, a youth-run farm stand as well as games, pumpkins, hay bales and more.

All funds raised from sales, a silent auction and donations will benefit Healthy Food For All to make farm-fresh produce accessible to families with limited income. Every penny counts, so bring change jars, hunt for loose bills between the couch cushions and bring what you can to support the cause.
