Long Island Vineyards Report Above Average Yields

New York averaged 6.0 days suitable for field work last week.
Harvest activity continued with sunshine and warm weather in much of the state. The average weekly temperatures ranged from 4 to 15 degrees above normal. Weekly precipitation ranged from 0.00 to 0.81 inches.
Corn chopping moved forward and hay began to wrap up. Producers also spread manure on fields, harvested soybeans and vegetables, and planted cover crops and wheat.
The apple harvest continued as slightly cooler temperatures moved in.
Warm weather helped ripening on Long Island vineyards. Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc were harvested with average to above average yields.
