Cayuga County; Colleen Cargile: Most parts of the county got close to 6 inches of snow this week, which does not make for ideal harvest conditions. There are still quite a few acres of soybeans out, which of course is not ideal with all the snow. I see that many of the soybeans are starting to go down, and they won't be able to be harvested until the snow melts off. And there is an unbelievable amount of corn left in the fields to be harvested. I have heard from more than one person that this is the most acres of corn that they have seen in the fields at this point in the year. The problem is that everything was planted so late this year, people were just finishing up chopping this week and last week, which is unheard of. I think high moisture corn is about the only corn that has been harvested for grain so far. Everyone keeps saying that nothing is drying down so that they can move forward with harvest. It has certainly been a difficult and trying harvest season thus far.

Cortland/ Tompkins counties; Jennifer Doty: Harvest continues to slog along through the mud.

Erie County; Emily Miller: Erie County received over 8 inches of snow this week.

Livingston County; Dean R Pendergast: Snow ended harvest for the majority of the week with some beans still remaining in the field, corn harvest has been slow.

Ontario County; Joann Rogers: Ontario County received snow at the beginning of the week that stopped/slowed the harvest of soybeans and corn for grain and finalized most of the vegetable harvest.

Suffolk County; Alice V Wise: Long Island vineyard crews continue to clean up from harvest. Many are still removing over-the-row bird netting or tying down side nets. These are left out year round and are tied securely to the drip irrigation wire.
