Frozen Ground Helps NYS Farmers Harvest Corn, Soybeans

New York had a fair week for field activities with an average of 3.5 days suitable for field work. Temperatures were reported with a high of 68F, a low of 8F, and a state average temperature of 36F. Weekly precipitation ranged from 0 to 2.61 inches.

The ground is frozen in some areas which allowed for harvest of corn and soybeans.

Fieldwork activities for the week were spreading manure, seeding, and harvesting.
