TruGreen Partners with Arbor Day Foundation for Free Trees
New York Ag Connection - 04/24/2017

TruGreen announced a national partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspire people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees. As part of the partnership, TruGreen will assist the Arbor Day Foundation with distributing trees to homeowners in Buffalo, Syracuse, Detroit and Boulder. These new trees will be free of charge, and help to replace trees lost to the emerald ash borer.

"We are proud to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation in helping communities rebuild their tree populations that were devastated by the emerald ash borer," said Jeff Fedorchak, TruGreen vice president of corporate affairs. "We've added this Community Tree Recovery Program to our overall environmental stewardship program that includes pollinator protection and the restoration of parks and green spaces nationwide."

Arbor Day Foundation's Community Tree Recovery, a national program supported by foundation members and corporate supporters like TruGreen, aims to replace trees in communities affected by natural disasters throughout the United States. The program has assisted more than 200 communities in planting or distributing more than 3.8 million trees since its inception in 2012.

"Trees are assets to a community when properly planted and maintained," said Dan Lambe, president, Arbor Day Foundation. "It made perfect sense for us to align our efforts with a partner like TruGreen to accomplish our mutual goal of improving the quality of a neighborhood's outdoor spaces."
