NYS Fruit Near to Just After Full Bloom
New York Ag Connection - 05/24/2016

New York had an average of 5.5 days suitable for field work, reports the National Ag Statistics Service for the state. Nights were cold this week. Days were cool and dry. There was a little precipitation, both rain and snow flurries. Rain helped the pastures fill in and some hay cutting has begun.

The last of the small grains are being planted. Earlier plantings are heading. Some corn is in and emerging. Soybeans are being planted.

Most fruit is near to just after full bloom. Disease is still a worry for growers.

Field activities for the week include tillage, seeding, applying fertilizer, manure and pesticides, repair and maintenance.
