Abnormally dry conditions continued this past week in many areas of the state, according the U.S. Drought Monitor. In some counties, crops were impacted by hot, dry conditions such as strawberries while other crops, like corn, benefited from humidity.
Where dry conditions were prevalent, some corn curled and soybeans were also impacted.
Wheat harvest began along with blueberries. The second cutting of hay hasn't started as strong as the first cut. Long Island vineyard crews tucked shoots into catch wires, hedged, and thinned clusters.
