Northeast Farm Real Estate, Cropland Prices Up

The United States farm real estate value, a measurement of the value of all land and buildings on farms, averaged $3,140 per acre for 2018, up $60 per acre (1.9 percent) from 2017 values. In the Northeastern Region, the overall value increased by $50 per
acre (1.0 percent) from last year. Changes from 2017 among publishable states ranged from a 2.3 percent decrease in Maine to a 2.4 percent increase in Delaware.
The United States cropland value averaged $4,130 per acre, an increase of $40 per acre from the previous year. In the Northeastern Region, the overall value increased by $130 per acre (2.4 percent) from last year. Changes from 2017 among publishable
states ranged from a 0.8 percent decrease in New Jersey to a 4.3 percent increase in Pennsylvania.
The United States pasture value increased by $40 per acre (3.0 percent) from 2017 values. In the Northeastern Region, the overall value increased by $60 per acre (1.8 percent) from last year. Changes from 2017 among publishable states ranged from a 1.8
percent increase in Pennsylvania to a 3.6 percent increase in New York.
